Pharmacy is a discipline of science that deals with compounding and dispensing of medicines with aim to provide safe and effective use of drugs. But now there is change in pharmacy profession that this profession is not limited up to only the compounding and dispensing but it is also directly linked with clinical practices. Because of tremendous scope in pharmacy profession this stream becomes the choice of students. There is continuously increase in colleges that are running pharmacy courses and students expect the following criterions that colleges should be fulfill.

  • All courses ie D.Pharm, B.Pharm and M.Pharm should be approved by All India Council for Technical Education AICTE and pharmacy council of India.
  • Colleges should adopt standard syllabus as per pharmacy council of India (PCI).
  • Academics should be integrated means there should be equal focus on theory as well as on practical classes.
  • Colleges should have separate departments of each subject on different floors of college building to avoid students crowd so that classes can be run properly and efficiently.
  • Colleges should be recruited well qualified and trained staff for each subject so that aim of quality education should be fullfill.
  • Colleges should have all proper arrangements for running classes properly means there should be sufficient number of lecture halls and labs as per the strength of students.
  • All the laboratories of each departments in colleges should have necessary equipments, apparatus and laboratories reagents so that practicals can be performed successfully.
  • Colleges should have well trained technical staffs for handling laboratories equipments so that they can help and guide the students during practical classes.
  • Colleges should focus on complete personality development of students.
  • For personality development of students there should be separate classes for English speaking, technical skills and computer skills.
  • Along with academic development students should also involve in co-curricular activities like sports and cultural activities.
  • Colleges should organize sports, cultural and pharmacy weeks and motivate the students to take part in these types of co-curricular activities.
  • Colleges should have their own placement and training department so that maximum students can be trained and get jobs in different reputed organizations.
  • Colleges should arrange the jobs fair so that maximum students can interact with different organizations and share their experiences and get placed there.
  • Colleges should have well trained information technology department so that all the internet related functions can be smoothly carried out.
